Summary

Why the child starts to smoke?

The facility is thought and organized by the tobacco industry in three stages: (1) Present the tobacco as a product that they will have to take adult!; (2) make the first tobacco experimentation the earliest and least repulsive possible with perfumed tobacco, menthol cigarettes, menthol capsules or shisha; (3) from the time of consumption, smoking, which was initially an adolescent behavior, quickly becomes an addiction and smoking is no longer just a way to manage boredom, conflicts or take cannabis. Cigarettes, especially those in the morning, are then lit to compensate for the lack of nicotine created by cigarettes previously taken: The perfect vicious cycle of addiction.

How to block the introduction of dependence?

The language of prevention must be differentiated according to the age of the child. The restriction of the place of tobacco in society is amplified by the introduction of the neutral packaging, the control of promotion, the extension of tobacco-free spaces and the decline of adult smoking rate contribute to decrease initiation of tobacco dependence in children.
