Étude radiographique des vaisseaux rénaux après opacification par un produit de contraste iodé hydrosoluble.
L'examen s'effectue par la méthode de Seldinger, avec cathétérisme sélectif des artères rénales droite et/ou gauche. La sériographie doit être prolongée pendant une vingtaine de secondes pour obtenir une bonne étude du temps parenchymateux (néphrographie) et du retour veineux.
