Étude radiographique du pelvis après opacification de l'artère iliaque interne (artère hypogastrique) et de ses branches par un contraste iodé hydrosoluble.
L'examen est sélectif, voire hypersélectif, utilisant la technique de Seldinger; la voie préférentielle par ponction de l'artère axillaire gauche permet de descendre un cathéter dans l'artère iliaque interne, puis dans les branches de celle-ci.
