Artère coronaire située dans le sillon interventriculaire postérieur du cœur, d’importance et de longueur variable qui représente dans la majorité des cas (5/6) la partie terminale de l’artère coronaire droite ayant contourné le cœur dans le sillon auriculoventriculaire (artère coronaire droite dominante).
Dans la minorité des cas (1/6), l’interventriculaire postérieure est formée par l’artère circonflexe (coronaire gauche dominante).
